A project by an NCOPE Resident has provided prospective students with a helpful resource to help make more informed decisions about their O&P education.

The first helpful resource compares costs of the different Orthotic and Prosthetic (O&P) programs, offered by 12 different institutions, factoring things such as in-and-out-of-state tuition, program length, and estimated monthly cost of living. Tampa’s relatively low cost of living is attractive, and it is safe to say that how much an individual spends in a month is highly variable. The key, however is that IIOP does not charge more for out-of-state students versus in-state, and has one of the shortest program lengths overall. These factors play a role in making IIOP one of the most cost effective out-of-state choices. This undoubtedly is a draw for candidates outside the state of Florida, or maybe its the beautiful beaches and coastlines. You can see more of what Tampa Bay offers at VisitTampaBay.com We hope the rankings demonstrate the International Institutes  commitment to high standards of academic excellence, dedication to inclusion, affordability, accessibility and student success and provides transparency of the tuition and fees.

The O&P Edge recently published a feature of Masters programs in their May 2021 Issue. It dissected the entry requirements and tuition differences between the programs. (VIEW)

* Estimated cost of living comes from the Economic Policy Institute website (https://www.epi.org/resources/budget/) based on the city or county the school is located in. Because students often live more frugally than the average person, the monthly cost has been reduced by 30%. The total estimated cost is then calculated by multiplying the monthly cost by the length of the program.
** Estimated monthly payment based on 7% interest rate (current Federal Loans are between 6.6% - 7.6%) for standard 10 year repayment.
-++ University of Washington tution is difficult to verify online and may be innacurate.
^ In order to qualify for the Concordia program, you must complete about 70 credit hours worth of prerequisite coursework at Century College. This adds at least one year to the timeline as well as the additional tuition (see CSP + Century College dual enrollment option).
^^ There is no federal Title IV financial aid available for students enrolled in the FIU/IIOP program. Students needing financial assistance may apply for a private alternative loan. Student loans will not be provided by financial institutions.
^^^ UT Southwestern's 2022 tuition and fees are estimated on their website as $22,000 in-state and $47,000 non-resident
^^^^NUPOC's cost of living estimate does not include living expenses during the online portion.
